I have been making contemporary jewellery from my home studio in Johannesburg since 1999. I’m a bit of a collector, and I like to incorporate special bits and pieces that I find into my work. Jewellery is such an intimate, personal thing, so it’s important to me that each piece I make has a bit of a story to tell.
Good craftsmanship is something I take very seriously: I make all of my jewellery myself by hand and only use precious materials. My pieces are all one-of-a-kind and I’m happy to do commissions.
You can come and visit me at my studio and gallery Tinsel in Risidale (close to Linden), Joannesburg, which I share with my husband Eric Loubser (who is also a jewellery designer). Our work is available for sale there, along with pieces from a small selection of other local designers.
